What to look for here
- Cups and glasses. An espresso cup is thick and small (60–90 ml) so the coffee stays hot; a latte glass is tall and clear so the layers show.
- Knife set with a block. A sharp knife is safer than a blunt one — it does not slip off the food onto your hand. A block keeps the edge longer than a drawer.
- An electric knife slices roast, bread and frozen food evenly with no effort — handy for holiday dinners.
- Grill tools. A long-handled set in a carry case travels to the summer house and camping trips.

Are knives dishwasher safe? Better not: detergent and hot water dull the blade faster. Rinse and dry them straight away.
