Robot or handheld
A window cleaning robot sticks to the glass by vacuum, sprays water and drives across the pane on its own — ideal for large windows, balcony glazing and panes you cannot reach. A window vacuum is a small cordless tool: you wash the glass as usual and it lifts the dirty water so nothing drips down. The robot saves time, the handheld saves money.
What to look at
- Suction. 3,000–8,000 Pa keeps the robot on the glass; more is welcome on thick or frameless panes.
- Safety rope. Essential when cleaning from the outside — it holds the unit even during a power cut.
- Edge detection. Sensors keep the robot off the frame and let it cover the corners.
- Water spray. A two-way spray wets the pad evenly and dissolves limescale.
- Runtime. A handheld runs 20–45 minutes — enough for a flat's windows in one go.
