Apple Watch bands

Two size groups, not ten

An Apple Watch band is chosen by case width, not by generation. There are two groups, and every band on this page belongs to one of them.

• Smaller group: 38, 40, 41 and 42 mm cases. One band fits all four.
• Larger group: 44, 45, 46 and 49 mm cases, Ultra included.
• S/M or M/L describes your wrist, not the case — if your wrist is on the border, take the longer one.

The material decides where you wear it

• Silicone. For training and water: shrugs off sweat, washes clean, the cheapest option.
• Nylon and fabric. Light and breathable, comfortable all day — the widest choice of colours.
• Leather. For the office and for dressing up; leather dislikes water and sweat.
• Metal. Steel or titanium — the heaviest and the most durable choice.

Before you order

Check the case size in the Watch app or on the back of the watch. If you have not bought the watch yet, pick the Apple Watch first and the band second. A screen protector covers the display, and bands for other makes are under watch straps.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 41 mm band fit a 42 mm watch? It does. The 38, 40, 41 and 42 mm cases share the same band fitting.

Will an Ultra band fit a regular Series? It will if the Series is 44, 45 or 46 mm — those sit in the same size group as Ultra.

How do I change the band? Press the button on the back of the watch and slide the band out of its slot; no tool is needed.

Which band suits training? Silicone or nylon — both handle sweat and dry quickly; leather is not a good fit for sport.
