Two cameras that record by themselves

A dash cam films the whole drive and is the one witness in traffic that never forgets a detail. A drone does the same from the air — landscape, roof, wedding or building site. They sit together because the basket is the same: a fast memory card and a power bank or car charger.

Choosing a dash cam

Night image decides it, not megapixels: a good HDR sensor reads a plate against oncoming headlights, a poor one does not. Check frame rate (30 fps is enough, 60 fps gives sharper stills), field of view (140–160°) and parking mode. Use a high-endurance card — an ordinary one wears out under loop recording.

Choosing a drone

Models under 250 g fall under the simplest rules and make sense for a first drone; larger ones bring a better sensor and hold wind. Look at flight time (25–35 minutes is today's norm), obstacle sensing, and whether more than one battery is included — without that a shooting day ends in half an hour. Will an insurer accept dash cam footage? Yes — which is exactly why the camera's date and time and the card's health are worth checking; a worn-out card is the most common reason footage turns out to be missing.

Do I need a licence for a drone? Recreational flights with a sub-250 g model usually need no separate training, but operator registration and no-fly zones apply to everyone. Check the rules before the first flight.
