Why put a case on your AirPods case
The charging case lives in a pocket with keys and coins and gets dropped a lot. Glossy plastic scratches quickly, and a dent or crack can damage the lid hinge. A case takes the knock, adds grip and makes yours easy to tell apart from everyone else's.
How to choose
- Model. The cases differ in shape: AirPods 1 and 2 share one, while AirPods 3, AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro/Pro 2 each have their own. The right model is in the product name and in the «Fits model» filter.
- Material. Silicone is soft and grippy, TPU is thinner and stays cleaner, faux leather looks smarter.
- Attachment. Some cases come with a carabiner so you can hang the case on your keys or bag.
Charging with the case on
There is a cut-out for the port, so cable charging works without removing the case. Thin silicone and TPU cases usually let wireless charging through as well; take a thicker one off before placing the case on a charger.
