How to choose an oral irrigator

Cordless or countertop. A cordless unit suits a small bathroom and travel; a countertop model has a larger tank and cleans every gap without refilling.
Tank capacity. 150–200 ml is enough for one person; a 600 ml tank suits a family.
Pressure modes. Several settings let you start gently and build up.
Nozzles included. For a family, pick a set with several nozzles — one each.

Does an irrigator replace floss? It is a convenient alternative, especially with braces and implants; it does not replace a toothbrush.

How often should nozzles be replaced? Manufacturers suggest roughly every three months, as with brush heads.

Can it be used in the shower? Some models carry an IPX7 rating — check the product specifications.
