A watch has its own charger; the phone's will not do

Almost every smartwatch charges through its own contact or a magnetic puck — a USB-C phone cable will never charge a watch. A lost or broken charger is therefore the most common reason a watch ends up in a drawer.

Choose by watch model

A charger matches a specific family rather than a maker in general: a Garmin Fenix 7 connector will not fit a Forerunner, and an Amazfit Stratos charger will not fit a GTR. Check the exact watch name in its settings and compare it with the product name. A spare for work and another for home is a cheap fix if the watch charges daily.

Frequently asked questions

Can I charge a watch with a phone charger? With the power brick, yes — but the cable has to be the watch's own; a USB-C plug will not connect to it.

Does one brand's charger fit all its watches? No. The contact differs between series, so check the model name in the product description.

Do I have to buy the original? No, a third-party charger works just as fast when the contact is right.

Why will the watch not charge? Usually a dirty contact or a puck that has slipped — wipe the case back with a dry cloth and reseat the puck.
