How to choose a steam cleaner
- Type. Handheld units suit kitchens, tile grout and bathrooms; a pressurised model also handles floors.
- Steam pressure. 3–4 bar breaks down grease and limescale faster than low-pressure steam.
- Water tank. 0.3–0.5 litres covers a short session; bigger tanks run longer between refills.
- Adjustable steam. Useful when you clean both an oven rack and an upholstered chair.
- Attachments. A round brush, window squeegee and crevice nozzle cover most jobs.
