How to choose a curling iron or straightener
- Barrel size. 19–25 mm gives tight curls, 32–38 mm creates soft waves and volume.
- Coating. Ceramic heats evenly and glides through hair; tourmaline adds shine.
- Temperature. Adjustable heat matters: 150–170 °C for fine hair, up to 200 °C for thick hair.
- Heat-up time. Good models are ready in 30–60 seconds.
- Swivel cord. Stops the cable twisting while you style.
