How to choose a sparkling water maker
A sparkling water maker turns tap water fizzy in ten seconds and ends the bottle-carrying. Our selection is compact — two mechanical models that need no electricity — so the question is really which cylinder, bottle and look suit your kitchen.
- Cylinder and exchange. One CO₂ cylinder carbonates up to 60 l of water, roughly 2–3 months for an average household. Before buying, check which cylinder the model takes: quick-fit and screw-in cylinders are not interchangeable, so you need to be able to swap an empty one for a full one of the right type.
- Power. A mechanical machine works without a plug — fine for a summer house or an office with no socket nearby. Both of our models are like this.
- Bottle. The standard bottle is 1 l; some models include a smaller one too. Check whether it is dishwasher safe and what its service life is — a plastic bottle has an expiry date because it works under pressure.
- Carbonation control. Lever or button — the more presses, the fizzier the water. A lever model gives a more consistent result in a single motion.
- Looks and size. The machine lives on the worktop permanently, so colour and height matter — make sure it fits under the wall cupboard even when you load the bottle from the top.
Sparkling water makers in our range
The selection consists of two mechanical models in different colours. SodaStream Art is a lever machine available in white, black and white-and-gold — the lever carbonates in one press. Philips GoZero ADD4902 comes in white and black and is the affordable end of the shelf. We do not currently stock electric models or ones with a syrup tank.
Brands
SodaStream is the best-known name in sparkling water makers: cylinder exchange points are in most shops, and accessories (bottles, syrups) are the easiest to find. Philips GoZero is a simply built, sensibly priced machine for those who want fizzy water without paying extra for the brand.

Frequently asked questions
Is a cylinder included? Usually a starter cylinder and one bottle are in the box, but check the product page — bundles differ.
How long does a cylinder last? Up to 60 l of water; at a litre a day, about two months. Stronger fizz uses gas faster.
Can I carbonate juice or lemonade? No — the machine is designed for plain water only. Add syrup or juice after carbonating, otherwise the drink foams over and fouls the machine.
Does it need electricity? No, both of our models are mechanical and run purely on cylinder pressure.
How is it delivered? To a parcel locker — Omniva, DPD or Venipak deliver it in 1–2 working days.
