Why 50 inches is the safe size

This is the size nobody later calls too big. Viewing distance is 2.5–3 metres, every model is 4K, and the wall does not have to be three metres wide.

50 or 55

The difference is 10 cm of width and usually under a hundred euros. If the sofa is further than 2.5 m, take 55 inches. For a smaller room, 43 inches. Full range: TVs.

What to buy with it

A wall mount and one decent HDMI 2.1 cable if a console is involved. For sound, add a soundbar.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 100 Mbit connection enough? Yes — a 4K stream needs about 25 Mbit/s; the usual bottleneck is Wi-Fi coverage, not the plan.

How is it delivered? With the oversized courier; a TV does not fit a parcel locker.

Can cables be hidden in the wall? A cable channel is a separate purchase; with a full-motion arm leave 10–15 cm of slack.
