Who still wants a cable

A cable is a choice, not a drawback: it removes latency, charging and Bluetooth compression. For the same money a wired model usually sounds better.

• Studio and editing. Sound arrives with no delay — critical for video work and for playing an instrument.
• Impedance. Up to 80 Ω works off a phone or laptop; 250 Ω and above wants a sound card or amplifier.
• Connector. 3.5 mm fits everything; USB-A/USB-C headsets carry their own sound card and microphone, which suits calls.
• Open or closed. Open backs (DT 990) sound roomier but leak; closed backs (DT 770) isolate.
• Serviceable. Worn ear pads and cables can be replaced — the headphones outlive any battery.
