The AOC Q27G4ZDR is a 27-inch gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel in which every pixel emits its own light and switches off completely on black. The stand adjusts for height and tilt, swivels and rotates the screen into portrait mode.

Description

QD-OLED: black that is actually black

Unlike an LCD monitor, a QD-OLED panel has no backlight: each pixel produces its own light and simply turns off where the image is black. Night scenes, dark dungeons and space games therefore look deep, without a grey haze or bright halos around objects. A quantum dot layer gives colours their saturation, and 178° viewing angles both horizontally and vertically keep the picture consistent even when you look at it from the side.

240 Hz and 0.03 ms for fast play

A 240 Hz refresh rate means the image updates 240 times per second, four times as often as a standard 60 Hz office monitor. The cursor glides, opponents stay clearly visible during a fast camera turn and aiming feels more direct. The 0.03 ms response time of the OLED pixels is so short that moving objects leave no trails or blur, the kind you often see on LCD panels in fast games. Competitive shooters are where the difference shows most.

QHD at 27 inches: sharp without scaling up

On a 27-inch screen, 2560 × 1440 strikes a sensible balance: text and menus are crisp without raising Windows scaling, and the graphics card does not have to push as many pixels as at 4K. That makes high frame rates easier to reach in many games. On the desktop two windows fit comfortably side by side, and the anti-reflection surface with 400 cd/m² of brightness keeps the screen readable in a bright room.

Ports for a PC and a console

The monitor has two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort, so a gaming PC and a console can stay connected at the same time while you switch inputs from the menu. Connecting the USB-B port to your computer lets you use the monitor's USB-A ports for a mouse, keyboard or flash drive. There is no USB-C port and no built-in speakers on this model, so sound needs separate speakers or headphones.

A stand that adapts to you

The stand lets you change height and tilt, swivel the screen left and right and rotate it into portrait orientation. With the stand, the monitor is 40.7–53.7 cm tall, so the screen travels about 13 cm and its top edge can be set at eye level. It is 60.9 cm wide and 20.8 cm deep. If desk space is tight, a VESA 100 × 100 mm arm can replace the stand; the monitor itself weighs 4.09 kg.

Who this gaming monitor is for

Gamers who want fast 240 Hz motion and the deep black of OLED in one screen; esports players for whom every millisecond counts; film and series viewers who care about a high-contrast picture in a dark room; and anyone who needs a fully adjustable stand plus two HDMI inputs for a PC and a console.

Questions & answers

Can the monitor be mounted on a wall or an arm?

Yes. It has a VESA 100 × 100 mm mount that fits most wall brackets and desk-clamped monitor arms.

Does the monitor support HDR?

The manufacturer does not specify HDR support separately. The listed brightness is 400 cd/m²; the fully black OLED pixel gives high contrast in dark scenes in any case.

Does it work with a games console?

A console connects to either of the two HDMI ports. The manufacturer does not specify the maximum refresh rate over HDMI; 240 Hz is the monitor's maximum.

Does the monitor have speakers or USB-C?

No. There are no built-in speakers and no USB-C port. The USB-A ports work once the monitor is connected to the computer with a USB-B cable.
