The 16.2-inch display at 3456 × 2234 pixels adds up to more than 7.7 million pixels. On a surface this size there is room for both the image and the tool panels when editing photos or cutting video, and a code editor fits next to its documentation without the text turning small or blurry. The high pixel density keeps type crisp during long reading sessions and shows fine detail in photographs. There is no touch layer on this model.

The Apple M5 Pro combines an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU on a single chip. With that many cores, exporting video, processing a large photo library or compiling code can be spread across them and finishes sooner than on a chip with fewer cores. The graphics cores also speed up 3D rendering and effects in video editing apps, so there is no need for a separate graphics card.

With 24 GB of memory you can keep a browser with dozens of tabs, a photo editor, a video editor and chat apps open together without the system constantly swapping data to the drive. The 1 TB SSD holds the operating system, your apps and most active projects, so an external drive only becomes necessary once the archive grows large. The manufacturer does not specify whether memory or storage can be replaced later, so it pays to choose capacity with the coming years in mind.

Wi-Fi support goes up to 802.11be, better known as Wi-Fi 7, which gives a faster and steadier connection with a compatible router, even on a crowded office network. Older routers work as well, since earlier Wi-Fi standards are supported too. Bluetooth 6.0 connects wireless headphones, a mouse, a keyboard and other accessories. The manufacturer data does not include a list of physical ports.

The keyboard uses a Swedish (SWE) layout with dedicated Å, Ä and Ö keys, so Estonian Ä and Ö can be typed directly. For Õ and Ü, add the Estonian keyboard layout in macOS settings. Backlighting keeps the keys visible in a dim room or on an evening train. The chassis is black and the laptop comes with macOS preinstalled.
