The 14-inch MacBook Pro is smaller than the 16-inch model and slips into a backpack or bag more easily when your work moves between the office, home and meetings. The diagonal is 14″; the manufacturer does not specify the resolution or other display details for this configuration. The compact format makes sense for anyone who carries a laptop every day.
The M5 Pro CPU has 18 cores. The more cores, the more work runs in parallel: compiling code, analysing data, compressing files and several open apps do not have to wait for each other. Compared with the 15-core M5 Pro configuration, there are three more cores here.
The graphics are part of the M5 Pro chip and have 20 cores. GPU cores speed up photo editing, video editing and export, 3D work and machine learning tasks. Compared with the M5 Pro model with the 16-core GPU, there are a quarter more cores, which you notice above all when exporting video.
Unified memory is shared by the CPU and GPU, so graphics use the same 24 GB without separate video memory. That lets you keep several development and creative apps open at once. The 2 TB SSD is a particular strength of this configuration: photo libraries, video footage and project archives fit on the laptop without an external drive.
The keyboard has a Swedish (SWE) layout with Å, Ä and Ö on the keys. For Estonian, Ä and Ö are already there, while Õ and Ü are typed through the Estonian layout in macOS. The manufacturer does not list backlighting, ports or wireless specifications for this configuration.
Photographers who need lots of storage in a compact machine; developers for whom 18 CPU cores matter; students and freelance creatives who carry their laptop every day; and Estonian writers who prefer a Swedish layout with Ä and Ö keys.
