Apple MacBook Pro laptop 14" M5 Pro 18C CPU/20C GPU 24 GB/2 TB, Space Black, SWE

With a 14-inch diagonal, this MacBook Pro is smaller than the 16-inch model, so it fits a smaller bag and a cramped table on a train or in a café. The manufacturer does not specify the resolution or other display figures for this configuration. Space Black is a dark, understated finish that suits the office as well as a client meeting.

The CPU has 18 cores. When a job can be split — compiling code, processing data, exporting video or running several virtual machines — the cores handle it simultaneously and the result is ready sooner. Meanwhile you can keep using the browser, chat apps and office software without disturbing the background job.

The M5 Pro GPU has 20 cores. GPU cores work in parallel and speed up photo editing, video editing, 3D and machine learning tasks. Compared with the M5 Pro model with the 16-core GPU there are a quarter more cores, while the 14-inch M5 Max model has 32 GPU cores.

The CPU and GPU use the same 24 GB of unified memory; there is no separate video memory. That means the GPU can take a larger share of memory when needed, for example when processing large photos or video. A 2 TB SSD is a lot of space for a compact laptop, with room for media libraries, projects and archives.

The keyboard layout is Swedish (SWE), with Å, Ä and Ö on the keys. Two Estonian letters are therefore printed on the keys, while Õ and Ü are typed through the Estonian layout in macOS. The manufacturer does not list keyboard backlighting, ports or wireless specifications for this configuration.

Developers who often work away from the office; photo and video creators who want all their material on the laptop; university and art students who value a compact format; and Estonian writers who prefer the dark Space Black finish and a Swedish layout with Ä and Ö.
