Dahua SD22404DB-GNY PTZ IP camera 4 MP, 4× zoom, 2.8–12 mm, PoE

PTZ means the camera pans, tilts and zooms by remote control. It pans 0–355° at up to 100° per second and tilts 0–90°, so you can swing the view from the gate to the car park and back in a moment. Frequent views are stored as presets, while five patterns and eight tours let the camera sweep the area on its own. Pelco-P/D control protocols are also supported.

The focal length runs from 2.8 to 12 mm, giving a horizontal field of view of 90.3° at the wide end and 29.4° at the tele end. Optical zoom brings distant objects closer without stretching pixels, and PFA autofocus sharpens the image quickly while zooming. According to Dahua, the camera detects a target at up to 240 m, recognises at up to 48 m and identifies at up to 24 m. Resolution is 4 MP at 2560 × 1440.

Starlight technology and a 1/2.8″ CMOS sensor with a minimum illumination of 0.0005 lux produce a usable colour image under weak street lighting. In darkness the camera switches to night mode and turns on its built-in IR illumination. The manufacturer does not specify the IR range in metres. Defog mode, digital WDR and 2D and 3D noise reduction keep the picture clearer in damp weather as well.

The WizSense Series uses a dedicated AI chip and deep-learning algorithms focused on people and vehicles. Face detection tracks faces and saves snapshots, and IVS rules cover line crossing, intrusion, abandoned and missing objects and vehicle detection. SMD 3.0 works as a motion detector that tells humans from vehicles, cutting false alarms. A tampering alarm warns you if someone tries to cover or redirect the camera.

IP66 protects against dust and powerful water jets, and IK10 means high impact resistance. The camera operates from −30 to +60 °C and has 6000 V lightning protection. Supported mounting types are ceiling, wall and pole. The dome weighs 500 g, with a diameter of 122 mm and a height of 89 mm. It runs on PoE or a 12 V adapter, draws at most 6.1 W, and records to microSD cards of up to 512 GB.
