The 1/2.7-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor records at 2592 × 1944. 120 dB WDR keeps both a bright street and a shaded doorway visible at once, while BLC and HLC soften backlight and headlights. 3D noise reduction cuts noise at dusk, and automatic white balance and gain adapt to light that changes through the day.

According to the manufacturer, four IR LEDs light the scene at up to 78 m in the dark. A mechanical IR-cut filter (ICR) keeps colours natural by day and moves aside at night so the camera can use infrared light. The manufacturer's DORI figures are 80 m for detection, 32 m for observation, 16 m for recognition and 8 m for identification, which gives a good idea of the camera's reach.

Deep-learning algorithms in the Dahua AI series focus on people and vehicles. IVS functions include intrusion and tripwire detection, scene change alerts and people counting. Motion detection reports changes in the frame, and privacy masks keep areas that must not be watched, such as a neighbour's yard, out of the recording.

Up to three video streams can be sent at once in H.265 or H.264, and H.265+ and H.264+ keep archives compact. The camera can be viewed and configured through its web interface, the Dahua DSS/PSS CMS software and the DMSS app for Android and iOS. Supported protocols include RTSP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP and SNMP, and there can be up to 20 users.

The camera is powered over PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or from 12 V DC. The IP67 metal housing operates from −30 to 60 °C, weighs 815 g and measures 244.1 × 79 × 75.9 mm. It mounts on a wall or ceiling and can be panned 0–360° and tilted 0–90°. Audio and alarm interfaces let you add an external microphone, speaker or siren.

Installers and sites where this version is already in use or where a camera fleet needs to be kept uniform: industrial yards, car parks, warehouses and private houses. The long infrared reach suits large areas without extra lighting, 120 dB WDR helps on east- or west-facing facades, and people counting adds value beyond security.
