Description

A screen with room for the drawing and the toolbars

The 16-inch FHD+ display at 1920 × 1200 has a 16:10 aspect ratio, giving more height than a standard 16:9 screen, so the toolbars of CAD and 3D applications do not eat into the drawing area. Brightness of 400 cd/m² is enough for a brightly lit office. At FHD+ the graphics card spends its power on the model rather than on extra pixels. The display is not a touchscreen.

Core Ultra 9 performance for computation and rendering

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX is the top tier of Intel's HX series, the most powerful class of laptop processors, designed for sustained full load. Ultra 9 pays off when much of the work leans on the processor: simulations, code compilation, CPU rendering or large data sets. The 32 GB of DDR5 memory at 6400 MHz is fitted as two 16 GB modules, which means dual-channel operation.

RTX PRO 1000: professional graphics for CAD and BIM

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 1000 Blackwell belongs to NVIDIA's professional line rather than its gaming cards: it is built on the Blackwell architecture and aimed at work applications. Its 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory is enough for CAD and BIM software, smooth rotation of 3D models in the viewport and video editing. Heavier rendering is the job of the RTX PRO 2000 and 3000 versions of this model.

A 96 Wh battery for working away from the socket

The six-cell 96 Wh battery is a very large capacity for a laptop. On a machine with an HX processor and a discrete graphics card, it gives headroom for a meeting, a presentation at a client's office or a train journey without the charger. At 2.55 kg it is not light, but for a workstation of this calibre it still travels in a bag.

ID card reader and sign-in by face or fingerprint

The built-in smart card reader lets you sign documents digitally and log in to e-services with an ID card, no external reader needed. Windows can be unlocked with the fingerprint reader or with Windows Hello face recognition through the 8 MP RGB HDR + IR camera. In video calls, HDR helps when there is a bright window behind you. Wireless connectivity is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

English keyboard and Windows 11 Pro

The keyboard has an English (ENG) layout, familiar to international teams. Other languages are added in Windows settings, but the keycaps carry no Estonian or Cyrillic characters. Backlighting keeps the keys visible in a dim room. Windows 11 Pro adds BitLocker drive encryption, domain join and enterprise device management.

Who this workstation is for

Developers, analysts and engineers whose work leans mainly on the processor — simulations, compilation, data processing — but who also need professional graphics for CAD and 3D; designers who move between the office and the site; and companies where ID card sign-in and Windows 11 Pro management are everyday requirements.

Questions & answers

Which keyboard layout does it have?

The keyboard has an English (ENG) layout and is backlit. Other languages are added in Windows settings; the keycaps are not printed with Estonian or Russian characters.

Can I play games on it?

You can, but gaming is not what a workstation is for. The NVIDIA RTX PRO 1000 Blackwell is a professional graphics card aimed first and foremost at work applications. Many games will run on it, but gaming laptops with GeForce graphics are the machines designed for that.

Can the memory and storage be upgraded later?

The memory is two 16 GB modules (2 × 16 GB) and storage is a 1 TB SSD. The manufacturer does not specify whether the modules can be swapped or the maximum capacity; see the Dell service manual for upgrade options.

How long does the battery last?

The battery capacity is 96 Wh (6 cells). The manufacturer does not specify an official runtime in hours, as it depends heavily on whether only the processor or also the RTX PRO graphics card is under full load.
