Description

A display made for long working days

The 16-inch IPS panel at 1920 × 1200 has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so a code editor shows more lines and a spreadsheet more data than on a 16:9 screen. 500 cd/m² of brightness and an anti-glare finish keep work comfortable next to a window or under bright office lighting. There is no touchscreen on this model.

A Core Ultra X9 processor for heavy computing

The Intel Core Ultra X9 388H is a 16-core H-series processor with boost up to 5.1 GHz. High clocks and a high core count speed up code compilation, data processing, simulations and video exports. 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory at 8533 MHz lets you run several virtual machines or containers at once without the system slowing down.

Integrated graphics with no separate card

Graphics come from the Intel Arc B390 integrated into the processor; this configuration has no separate graphics card. It is enough for multiple monitors, video playback, photo editing and lighter 3D work. Integrated graphics use system memory, and 64 GB leaves plenty of room for that. For heavy rendering, the P1 G9 is also available with NVIDIA RTX PRO graphics.

Three Thunderbolt ports and an SD Express card reader

Two Thunderbolt 5 ports and one Thunderbolt 4 port support DisplayPort 2.1 output and USB PD 3.1 power, so any of the three can take a monitor, an external SSD or a charger. You also get HDMI, USB-A (10 Gbit/s), an SD Express 7.0 card reader that also reads regular SD cards, a 3.5 mm headset jack and a Kensington Nano security slot. Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4.

A 90 Wh battery and universal USB-C charging

Battery capacity is 90 Wh. The laptop charges through its Thunderbolt ports under USB PD 3.1 with up to 140 W input, and the same ports deliver up to 15 W to accessories. The USB-A port is Always On, so your phone keeps charging while the laptop is closed. The manufacturer does not give a runtime in hours.

Security that stays out of the way

The fingerprint reader sits in the power button and works on a Match-on-Chip basis, so fingerprint data never leaves the chip. The 5 MP IR webcam supports Windows Hello face sign-in and HDR, Computer Vision human presence detection notices whether you are at the screen, and a privacy shutter covers the lens. The keyboard is backlit with an English (ENG) layout.

Who this workstation is for

Software developers who compile large projects and run virtual machines; data analysts for whom 64 GB of memory and 16 cores provide headroom; photographers and videographers who use the SD Express card reader and three Thunderbolt ports; and anyone who needs a powerful 16-inch ThinkPad but not a discrete graphics card.

Questions & answers

Which keyboard layout does it have?

The keyboard has an English (ENG) layout. Other languages are added in Windows settings; the keycaps are not printed with Estonian or Russian characters.

Does it have a discrete graphics card?

No. Graphics are integrated Intel Arc B390, suitable for office work, photo editing, video and lighter 3D. Heavier 3D work and rendering are what the RTX PRO configurations are for.

How many external monitors can I connect?

Three Thunderbolt ports carry DisplayPort 2.1 and there is HDMI as well, so several monitors can be connected without a dock. The manufacturer does not specify the exact maximum.

Can the memory be replaced later?

The memory is an LPCAMM2 module rather than soldered to the board, so the module can be swapped. Supported capacity is listed in the Lenovo hardware maintenance manual.
