Description

A display that leaves room for the drawing

The 14.5-inch IPS panel at 1920 × 1200 has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so toolbars fit around a drawing and spreadsheets show more rows than on a 16:9 screen. With 400 cd/m² of brightness and an anti-glare finish, you can work by a window or in a café. There is no touchscreen on this model; it is a classic clamshell laptop.

A 16-core processor for everyday design work

The Intel Core Ultra 7 356H is an H-series processor with 16 cores and boost up to 4.7 GHz. It handles a CAD program, photo editing, office software and video calls at the same time. The 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory at 7467 MHz suits 2D drafting and mid-sized models; for very large assemblies or virtual machines, the 32 GB configuration is worth a look.

RTX PRO 500 graphics for CAD and 3D

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 Blackwell is a professional graphics card with 6 GB of GDDR7 video memory. It accelerates 2D and 3D CAD, BIM models, photo editing and video editing. Because the card has its own video memory, models and textures do not take space from the 16 GB of system RAM, which matters especially in this configuration.

Ports that cover office needs

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports support DisplayPort 2.1 output and USB PD 3.1 power, so a monitor and charger both connect over USB-C. You also get HDMI, a wired Ethernet RJ-45 jack, two USB-A ports (5 Gbit/s), one of them Always On, a 3.5 mm headset jack and a Kensington Nano security slot. Wireless is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4.

1.29 kg and a 75 Wh battery

At 1.29 kg, this is a workstation with discrete graphics that you can carry in your bag every day. Battery capacity is 75 Wh, and it charges through the Thunderbolt ports with up to 140 W input; the same ports deliver up to 15 W to accessories. The Always On USB-A port charges your phone with the lid closed. The manufacturer does not give a runtime in hours.

Security and a camera for remote work

The fingerprint reader sits in the power button and works on a Match-on-Chip basis, so fingerprint data never leaves the chip. The 5 MP IR webcam supports Windows Hello face sign-in and HDR, Computer Vision human presence detection notices whether you are at the screen, and a privacy shutter physically covers the lens. The keyboard is backlit with an English (ENG) layout.

Who this workstation is for

Designers and technicians who work mainly with 2D drawings and smaller 3D models; students and junior engineers who want ThinkPad P-series graphics; photo and video editors for whom a 512 GB drive plus an external archive is enough; and anyone who wants a light workstation whose memory can be expanded later by swapping the LPCAMM2 module.

Questions & answers

Which keyboard layout does it have?

The keyboard has an English (ENG) layout. Other languages are added in Windows settings; the keycaps are not printed with Estonian or Russian characters.

Is 16 GB of memory enough?

For 2D CAD, office work, photo editing and mid-sized 3D models, yes. For large assemblies, several virtual machines or heavy data processing, more memory is the sensible choice.

Can the memory be upgraded later?

The memory is an LPCAMM2 module rather than soldered to the board, so the 16 GB module can be swapped for a larger one. The exact options are listed in the Lenovo hardware maintenance manual.

How many external monitors can I connect?

Both Thunderbolt 4 ports carry DisplayPort 2.1 and there is HDMI as well, so several monitors can be connected without a dock. The manufacturer does not specify the exact maximum.
