Description

A screen where drawings do not feel cramped

The 14.5-inch IPS panel at 1920 × 1200 is a little larger than a typical 14-inch screen, and its 16:10 aspect ratio gives drawings, spreadsheets and documents more height than 16:9. With 400 cd/m² of brightness and an anti-glare finish, working by a window is no problem. There is no touchscreen on this model.

16 cores and 32 GB for several apps at once

The Intel Core Ultra 7 356H is a 16-core H-series processor with boost up to 4.7 GHz. It runs a CAD program, a browser, a video call and office software at the same time. 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory at 7467 MHz also covers larger models and a virtual machine. The memory sits in an LPCAMM2 module rather than being soldered, and the 1 TB SSD holds the system along with your project archive.

RTX PRO 500: discrete graphics in a compact chassis

The NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 Blackwell is a professional graphics card with 6 GB of GDDR7 video memory. It accelerates 2D and 3D CAD, BIM models, photo editing and video editing, taking load off the processor. With its own video memory, models and textures do not share space with system RAM. For very large 3D scenes and heavy rendering, the P14s G7 is also available with RTX PRO 1000 graphics.

Connectivity that covers office and travel

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports support DisplayPort 2.1 output and USB PD 3.1 power, so a monitor and charger both connect over USB-C. You also get HDMI, Ethernet RJ-45, two USB-A ports (5 Gbit/s), one of them Always On, a 3.5 mm headset jack and a Kensington Nano security slot. Wireless runs over Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4.

A light chassis and a 75 Wh battery

At 1.29 kg, this is a workstation with discrete graphics that you can carry in your bag every day. Battery capacity is 75 Wh, and it charges through the Thunderbolt ports with up to 140 W input, while the same ports deliver up to 15 W to accessories. The Always On USB-A port charges your phone with the lid closed. The manufacturer does not give a runtime in hours.

Sign in with a fingerprint or your face

The fingerprint reader in the power button works on a Match-on-Chip basis, so fingerprint data stays on the chip. The 5 MP IR webcam supports Windows Hello face sign-in and HDR, Computer Vision human presence detection notices whether you are at the screen, and a privacy shutter physically covers the lens. The keyboard is backlit with an English (ENG) layout.

Who this workstation is for

Designers and architects who work mostly with 2D drawings and mid-sized 3D models; engineering office staff who move between the office and project sites; photo and video editors who get smooth performance from 32 GB of memory and discrete graphics; and anyone looking for a light ThinkPad with professional graphics.

Questions & answers

Which keyboard layout does it have?

The keyboard has an English (ENG) layout. Other languages are added in Windows settings; the keycaps are not printed with Estonian or Russian characters.

Is the RTX PRO 500 suitable for 3D work?

Yes, the RTX PRO 500 Blackwell with 6 GB of GDDR7 accelerates CAD, BIM and 3D modelling. Very large scenes and heavy rendering are what the configurations with more powerful graphics are for.

How many external monitors can I connect?

Both Thunderbolt 4 ports carry DisplayPort 2.1 and there is HDMI as well, so several monitors can be connected without a dock. The manufacturer does not specify the exact maximum.

Can the memory be upgraded later?

The memory is an LPCAMM2 module rather than soldered to the board, so it can be swapped for a larger one. The exact options are listed in the Lenovo hardware maintenance manual.
