Description

A PoE budget for a whole camera system

Each PoE+ port delivers up to 30 W, with 250 W shared across all 24 ports. When consumption nears the limit, intelligent power management cuts the lower-priority ports first so the important devices keep running. PoE Auto Recovery reboots a camera or access point by itself when it stops responding. Two SFP slots let you link the switch over fibre to another building or the server room.

The total PoE budget is 250 W, with up to 30 W per port. If each device draws around 10 W, all 24 ports can be powered at once. With higher-power devices the number depends on what they actually draw.

Is this a managed switch?

Yes, it is an Easy Smart L2 switch. The web interface or the TP-Link utility lets you set up to 32 VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, port mirroring and link aggregation.

Can it be mounted in a rack?

Yes, the housing is 1U high and the rack mounting kit is in the box. It measures 440 × 220 × 44 mm and is cooled by two fans.
