The lens spans 5.4–135 mm, which is a 25× optical zoom. At the wide end the horizontal field of view is 61.6°, at full zoom just 3.6°, so the camera can move quickly from an overview to the details of a car or person far away. A 16× digital zoom comes on top. Autofocus keeps the picture sharp while zooming, and electronic stabilisation reduces shake.
When perimeter protection detects a person or vehicle entering a zone, the camera can lock onto the target automatically and follow it, zooming in as needed. The operator does not have to steer the camera manually. It also supports face detection and SMD 4.0 smart motion detection, which cuts down false alarms. For patrols you can set up presets, 5 patterns, 5 scans and 8 tours.
The 1/1.8″ STARVIS CMOS sensor and starlight technology produce a usable picture even in very weak light, with a minimum illumination of 0.0001 lux.
