The Dahua SG4028 is a 28-port managed L2 network switch with 26 gigabit RJ-45 ports and 2 SFP slots. Its fanless metal housing runs silently and mounts in a server rack. This model has no PoE, so it is built purely for data.

Description

A fanless design that suits quiet rooms

With no fan, the switch makes no noise and has no moving parts to wear out over time. The metal housing carries the heat away, and the manufacturer rates it for operation from −10 to 55 °C. The power input is protected against overvoltage and overcurrent, which helps the device ride out electrical interference.

Questions & answers

Does this switch power cameras over PoE?

No. The SG4028 does not supply PoE, so cameras and access points need their own power source or a separate PoE switch.

Can several ports be combined into one link?

Yes. Manual aggregation and static LACP are supported, merging several physical links into one virtual channel. If one cable fails, traffic carries on over the others.

How is the switch configured?

There is a web interface and an RJ-45 console port. Through them you can create up to 4000 VLANs, set QoS rules, enable STP/RSTP and IGMP snooping and manage the DHCP service.
