Dahua IPC-HFW3541T-ZAS-27135-S2 IP camera 5 MP, 2.7–13.5 mm, IR 60 m, PoE

The focal length runs from 2.7 to 13.5 mm, so the same camera can give a wide overview or a closer, more detailed view. At the wide end the field of view is 99° horizontally, 72° vertically and 133° diagonally. A maximum aperture of F1.5 lets plenty of light reach the sensor, and the closest focusing distance is 0.8 m. The installer does not have to guess the right lens in advance.

The 1/2.7-inch CMOS sensor delivers a 5-megapixel image. WDR, BLC and HLC help with backlight, bright headlights and shaded corners, while 3D noise reduction cuts noise at dusk. Rotation mode suits a narrow corridor where a vertical frame is more useful. Privacy masks hide areas that must not be recorded, such as a neighbour's window.

Four built-in IR LEDs light the scene in the dark at up to 60 m, according to the manufacturer. Infrared is invisible to the human eye, so the camera watches discreetly at night and produces a clear black-and-white image. Day and night modes switch automatically, and white balance and gain adjust on their own as well.

For intrusion and tripwire events, this WizSense series camera recognises whether a person or a vehicle triggered the rule, which cuts false alarms from animals and foliage. The manufacturer also lists motion, scene change and audio detection, along with alerts for memory card errors, network disconnection, IP conflicts, illegal access and voltage problems. SMD 4.0 and AI SSA are supported.

The camera is powered over PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or from 12 V DC, with a maximum consumption of 9.8 W. The metal housing is rated IP67 and works from −30 to 60 °C at up to 95 % humidity. It weighs 820 g and measures 244.1 × 79 × 75.9 mm. It mounts on a wall or ceiling and can be panned 0–360° and tilted 0–90°.

Private houses, business premises, car parks and warehouses where the area to watch is further away or its width is not known exactly before installation. The varifocal lens lets one model cover both a wide yard and a distant gate, 60 m of infrared suits a large plot, and human and vehicle classification spares security staff from empty alarms.
