Dahua IPC-HFW3849T-ZAS-IL-27135-B IP camera 8 MP, motorised zoom 2.7–13.5 mm

The motorised lens adjusts its focal length between 2.7 and 13.5 mm straight from the web interface or app, and focusing is motorised too. At the wide end the horizontal field of view is 114°, at the narrow end 32°. The installer does not have to turn or focus the camera by hand, and the view can be changed later if the area you need to watch changes. The closest focusing distance is 0.1 m.

The manufacturer gives distances for both extreme positions. At the wide end (2.7 mm) detection reaches 85.3 m, observation 34 m, recognition 17.1 m and identification 8.5 m. At the narrow end (13.5 mm) these grow to 280, 112, 56 and 28 metres respectively. A single camera can therefore cover a broad yard or bring a distant gate and driveway closer.

The camera has both infrared and warm light, each reaching up to 60 metres, with a choice of three illumination modes. On IR alone it records in black and white, warm light gives a colour picture at night, and the smart mode only switches on the warm light when a person or vehicle enters the frame. The bright F1.4 lens and starlight technology help at dusk.

Deep-learning analytics tell people from vehicles and support face detection, intrusion and tripwire. Xinghan vision models improve target detection and image quality. AcuPick helps you find a specific person or vehicle in the recordings quickly. The camera delivers up to three video streams, 120 dB WDR handles backlight, and eight privacy zones can be masked in the frame.

Power comes over PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or from a 12 V adapter, with a maximum draw of 9.9 W. Footage can go to a microSD card of up to 512 GB or to a recorder, cloud management lets you keep an eye on the camera remotely, and IEEE 802.1x and HTTPS protect the network link. The built-in microphone adds sound to recordings. It measures 238.5 × 90.7 × 90.7 mm, weighs 835 g and mounts on a ceiling or wall.

Business yards, car parks, storage areas and larger private houses where the camera has to cover zones at different distances and the view may need adjusting later without a ladder. Installers who value motorised zoom, colour night footage and fast search through recordings. The black housing blends into a dark facade.
