Description

A 180° panorama from one camera

A standard camera sees a narrow sector, so covering a wide area usually means two or three units on the wall. The RP-PCT16MD uses two lenses side by side and merges their pictures into one 180-degree panorama. A whole yard, a house front or a row of parked cars fits into a single frame, and you can follow a person or vehicle from one edge to the other without lining up recordings from two different cameras.

16 MP detail you can zoom into

The maximum resolution of 7680 × 2160 pixels gives a frame twice as wide as 4K at the same height. That matters for a panorama: when a wide angle is covered by too few pixels, distant objects turn into a blur. At 16 MP you can enlarge a recording afterwards and make out more detail, such as clothing or the shape of a car. The F1.6 aperture lets plenty of light reach the sensor, which helps at dusk and on overcast days.

Night vision out to 30 metres

In darkness the infrared illumination switches on, with a range of up to 30 metres according to the manufacturer. That is enough for a private plot, a small car park or a warehouse yard. The IR image is black and white but high in contrast, so movement and silhouettes remain easy to tell apart even without street lighting. The manufacturer says nothing about a colour night mode, so plan on classic infrared night vision.

One cable, IP67 and on-camera recording

The camera is powered over PoE: a single Ethernet cable carries both power and data, so there is no need for a socket near the mounting point. IP67 means the housing is dust-tight and withstands rain, snow and brief immersion in water. You can fit a microSD card of up to 512 GB, and H.265 compression keeps files smaller than H.264, so the card holds more days of footage.

Who this IP camera is for

Homeowners who want one camera to cover the entire yard or driveway; small businesses that need to watch a loading bay, car park or building front; and installers who prefer fewer cable runs and mounting points. At 0.78 kg and with an IP67-rated housing, it can be fixed to a wall or under the eaves and left outdoors all year round.

Questions & answers

Does the camera need a separate power adapter?

No. It is a PoE camera, powered by a PoE switch, an NVR with PoE ports or a PoE injector over the same Ethernet cable that carries the video.

How far can the camera see at night?

The IR illumination reaches up to 30 metres. Real visibility depends on the surroundings: light walls and snow reflect light back, an open field much less.

Can the camera be installed outdoors?

Yes, it is an outdoor camera rated IP67: the housing is dust-tight and resists rain and short-term immersion in water.

Is a microSD card included?

The camera has a microSD slot that supports cards up to 512 GB. The manufacturer does not specify whether a card is included, so plan for a suitable card separately if needed.
