Thermal Grizzly

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal thermal paste 5 g, 73 W/m·K

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut is a liquid metal thermal paste for the layer between a CPU or GPU die and the cooler. Its thermal conductivity of 73 W/m·K is almost six times that of the same maker's Kryonaut paste (12.5 W/m·K), and a synthetic needle lets you dose the metal precisely.

  • Thermal conductivity: 73 W/m·K
  • Amount: 5 g
  • Composition: liquid metal with increased indium content, density 6.24 g/cm³
  • Operating temperature: 10 to 140 °C
  • Viscosity: 140–190 Pa·s
  • Limitation: not for coolers with an aluminium base

Description

Liquid metal that moves heat off the die faster

Conductonaut is a liquid metal alloy, and its 73 W/m·K conductivity is several times higher than ordinary pastes. The better the layer conducts heat, the smaller the temperature gap between the die and the cooler base, which matters most on an overclocked CPU or graphics card. The synthetic needle helps you spread a thin, even layer without using too much.

Who this thermal paste is for

Experienced users who build or service their own PC and want the most out of their cooling. One important limitation: according to the manufacturer, Conductonaut must not be used with a cooler that has an aluminium base, because liquid metal reacts with aluminium. If you just need a paste that is easy to apply, an ordinary thermal paste is the better fit.

Questions & answers

Is Conductonaut electrically conductive?

The manufacturer data has no separate note on this, but it is a liquid metal and metal conducts electricity. Apply it only to the die surface, keep it away from surrounding contacts and wipe off any excess before assembly.

Can I use it with an aluminium cooler?

No. The manufacturer states plainly that Conductonaut must not be used with a cooler that has an aluminium base. Check what the cooler contact surface is made of before applying it.

What temperature range does it work in?

The manufacturer gives an operating temperature of 10 to 140 °C, which covers normal PC operation including heavy load.
