Thermal Grizzly

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste 1.5 ml / 5.55 g, 12.5 W/m·K

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut 1.5 ml is a small pack of thermal paste for the CPU or graphics card of one PC. The paste has a thermal conductivity of 12.5 W/m·K, does not conduct electricity, needs no cure time, and the pack holds 5.55 g.

  • Thermal conductivity: 12.5 W/m·K, thermal resistance 0.0032 K/W
  • Amount: 1.5 ml / 5.55 g
  • Electrical conductivity: not electrically conductive
  • Operating temperature: −250 to 350 °C
  • Density and viscosity: 3.7 g/cm³, 120–170 Pa·s

Description

Low thermal resistance for a cooler die

Besides a thermal conductivity of 12.5 W/m·K, the manufacturer quotes a thermal resistance of 0.0032 K/W. The lower that number, the less the paste layer holds back heat on its way from the die to the cooler, and the lower the chip temperature. There is no curing time, and the manufacturer highlights high long-term stability.

Who this thermal paste is for

Anyone building a single PC, swapping a cooler or replacing old, dried-out paste in a laptop, desktop or console. A small pack means no tube sitting unused for years. If you service several machines, the same Kryonaut also comes in 3 ml and 10 ml packs.

Questions & answers

Is Kryonaut electrically conductive?

No. The manufacturer states that the paste is not electrically conductive, so any that lands beside the die will not cause a short. Wiping off the excess before assembly is still good practice.

How much paste is in the pack?

The pack holds 1.5 ml, or 5.55 g, of paste, the smallest of the three Kryonaut pack sizes.

Does the paste need time to cure?

No. Kryonaut has no cure time, so the PC can be used right after assembly.
