Ubiquiti G6 PTZ UVC-G6-PTZ-W IP camera 4K 8 MP, PTZ, IR 30 m, IP66, PoE

The camera pans through 350° and tilts vertically, so one unit covers an area that would otherwise need several fixed cameras. The manufacturer highlights ultra-low-latency PTZ control and motion tracking: the camera can follow a person or vehicle from one edge of the view to the other. Its position is changed remotely, with no ladder required.

The 1/1.8″ sensor delivers 8-megapixel images at 3864 × 2160 and up to 30 frames per second. According to the manufacturer's description, the camera has two lenses and 10× hybrid zoom, which combines optical and digital magnification. In the wide view the field of view is 109.9° horizontally and 134.1° diagonally. Brightness, contrast, sharpness and HDR are adjustable, and 2D and 3D noise reduction are applied.

The camera detects faces, people, pets and vehicles, and classifies targets as human or vehicle. Licence plate recognition is supported as well, which is useful on driveways and in car parks. Privacy masking hides a neighbour's window or any other area that must not be recorded, and a text caption can be overlaid on the image. Processing runs on an ARM Cortex-A53 processor together with what the manufacturer calls a multi-TOPS AI engine.

In the dark, infrared LEDs light the scene up to 30 metres away. A light sensor and day/night mode switch the IR cut filter automatically, so daytime colours stay natural. The camera also has a built-in light that can illuminate a dark area with visible light. LED indicators show the camera's status.

A built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio: you can hear what is happening at the camera and speak directly to a visitor, a courier or an uninvited guest. The integrated card reader takes microSD cards, so footage can also be kept on a card in the camera itself. The connection is wired, through a Fast Ethernet RJ-45 port; there is no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

The aluminium and polycarbonate housing is rated IP66, which means protection against dust and powerful water jets. The camera operates from −30 to 50 °C and has IK04 impact resistance. It is powered over PoE with a maximum draw of 24.5 W. It is white, 203.2 mm tall, 107.2 mm in diameter and weighs 1 kg; a mounting kit and screws for ceiling, wall or pole are included.
