Description

Automatic set-up for a picture that is ready in seconds

The Cosmos 4K SE focuses the image and corrects keystone distortion in real time, so you do not have to adjust it by hand every time it is moved. Obstacle avoidance adapts the picture when something such as a shelf or a frame is in the way, and auto screen fit aligns the image with the borders of a projector screen. These features are especially handy on a portable projector that moves between rooms instead of staying in one spot.

Adapting to room light and wall colour

Ambient light adaptation takes the light in the room into account, while wall colour adaptation corrects the picture when you project onto a slightly tinted wall rather than a white screen. Eye Guard is an eye protection feature that Anker lists among the extras. Together they help produce a more natural image in an ordinary room rather than a purpose-built cinema, and reduce the need to change settings by hand every time.

1800 ANSI lumens of living room brightness

Brightness is measured with the ANSI method, so 1800 is comparable with other projectors' ANSI figures rather than with LED lumens. For a portable projector this is high brightness, enough for an evening living room or a dim room even with a larger picture. In a fully lit room or in sunlight the image fades, so curtains give better contrast. The manufacturer data does not list a contrast ratio.

4K UHD and a 1.2:1 throw ratio

3840 × 2160 pixels is four times as many as Full HD, which matters most on a large picture. Anker lists 4K UHD as the maximum resolution and does not specify how the image is formed. The 1.2:1 throw ratio means that from 3.5 metres the image is roughly 2.9 m wide, a diagonal of about 132″, a picture size you can get in an ordinary living room.

Two HDMI inputs and 2 × 15 W Dolby Audio sound

The two HDMI inputs can take, for example, a games console and a media player, and you can switch between them without swapping cables. The built-in 2 × 15 W speakers support Dolby Audio, so a film night works without a separate soundbar. The box includes an AC cable, a remote with two AAA batteries and a quick start guide. At 4.30 kg the grey projector can be carried between rooms.

Who this projector is for

The Cosmos 4K SE suits people who want a big 4K UHD picture without a complicated installation, since the projector sets focus and shape itself and adapts to the room and wall. With two HDMI inputs and 2 × 15 W speakers, films, sport and games in the living room run without extra devices. 1800 ANSI lumens are meant for evening and dim-room viewing.

Questions & answers

Is the Cosmos 4K SE a native 4K projector?

The manufacturer data lists 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) as the maximum resolution. Native resolution is not stated separately.

How big is the picture from 3.5 metres?

With a 1.2:1 throw ratio the image is roughly 2.9 m wide, which for 16:9 corresponds to a diagonal of about 132″.

Can I connect a games console?

Yes, the projector has 2 HDMI inputs, so a console and, say, a media player can be connected at the same time.

Can I use the projector in a bright room?

1800 ANSI lumens is high brightness for a portable projector, suited to a dim living room. Ambient light adaptation helps, but in sunlight the image fades, so curtains are recommended.
