LG 32UQ850V-W monitor 32" 4K UHD IPS USB-C 90 W

3840 × 2160 pixels on a 32-inch screen gives you four times as many pixels as Full HD. Text and interface elements stay comfortably readable at normal scaling, and the screen fits several documents at once, a long code file or a photo editor with all its tool panels. When editing video, 4K footage can be viewed at full resolution without shrinking the picture.

IPS technology provides 178° viewing angles and even colour across the whole screen, which matters especially on a large diagonal, where you always see the edges at a slight angle. Brightness of 400 cd/m² is enough even in a sunny office, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio is high for an IPS panel, so dark tones are deeper and the image has more depth. Response time is 5 ms.

The USB-C port charges a laptop at up to 90 W, so many laptops can draw power straight from the monitor and the charger can stay in the bag. There are also two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort, so you can connect, for example, a work laptop, a desktop and a media player at the same time and switch inputs from the menu. The built-in speakers handle video calls and system sounds.

The stand offers height adjustment, which helps you bring the top edge of the screen to eye level and keep your neck relaxed. This model has no swivel and no pivot. A VESA mount lets you put the monitor on an arm instead. With the stand it measures 71.4 × 59.78 × 23.93 cm and weighs 7.15 kg, finished in silver.

A 60 Hz refresh rate is the norm for office work, photo editing, programming and watching video. This monitor is designed first and foremost for a sharp, even image rather than fast-paced gaming. If your main work is spreadsheets, design, photos or code, 4K resolution on a large screen does far more for you than a higher refresh rate would.

Photographers, designers and video editors who need a large 4K workspace; programmers and analysts who keep a lot of text and data on screen; home offices where the laptop connects with a single USB-C cable; and anyone looking for a silver monitor with a bright, high-contrast image that fits a light-coloured interior.
