Description

Aluminium housing and cap for everyday carry

A stick that lives in pockets and bags has to cope with scratches and bending, which is why the MR1903 housing is aluminium rather than thin plastic. The cap covers the USB plug when the drive is not in use and keeps dust and dirt off the contacts. Reads of up to 220 MB/s mean a multi-gigabyte film or photo folder copies to your computer quickly, without a long stare at the progress bar.

Who this USB flash drive is for

Pupils carrying schoolwork and presentations; office workers sharing documents and spreadsheets with colleagues without the cloud; and home use for keeping photos, music and films or moving them to another computer. 256 GB is a sensible size for anyone who has outgrown smaller sticks.

Questions & answers

Why is the write speed lower than the read speed?

Writing to flash memory technically takes longer than reading it. That is why the MR1903 writes at up to 140 MB/s and reads at up to 220 MB/s.

Will it work with a computer that has USB-C ports?

The drive has a USB-A plug, so a USB-C port needs a separate USB-C to USB-A adapter or hub. No adapter is listed in the box.

Does it work in a USB 2.0 port?

USB 3.2 Gen 1 devices are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, but speed drops to the older port's level and 220 MB/s reads are not reached.
