At a write speed of 7 MB/s, copying 1 GB of data to the drive takes about two and a half minutes; reading it back at 17 MB/s takes roughly a minute. For documents, presentations and photos that is no obstacle, but for a video collection of several gigabytes a USB 3 drive is quicker. The swivel cover turns back over the plug, so there is nothing to lose.
