The TP-Link TL-SF1006P is a six-port 10/100 Mbps unmanaged network switch whose four PoE+ ports power IP cameras, access points and IP phones from a 67 W total budget. In Extend mode the link reaches up to 250 metres, and no configuration is needed.

Description

Cameras further than 100 metres away

In Extend mode data and power travel up to 250 metres, although the port speed then drops to 10 Mbps, which is usually enough for a single camera's video stream. Priority mode gives ports 1–2 precedence. When the total draw exceeds 67 W, intelligent power management cuts the lower-priority port and protects the switch from overload. The two non-PoE ports connect a router or a video recorder.

How many cameras can it power?

PoE+ is available on four ports, with 67 W shared across all of them. If each camera draws around 15 W, all four can be powered at once.

Is 100 Mbps enough for cameras?

In most cases yes: the video stream of a single IP camera usually stays within a few megabits. A faster link matters more for copying large files between computers and a NAS.
