Description

Gigabit networking without configuration

All eight ports run at up to 1000 Mbps and detect both link speed and cable type on their own, so there is no need to worry about straight-through or crossover cables. There is no menu or web interface – connect the switch to your router and plug the other devices into the switch. It can stay on a desk or go into a rack next to other network equipment.

Who this network switch is for

Homes where the router has run out of ports and a PC, TV, console and printer all need a wired connection; small offices that need to bring a few workstations onto one network; and server rooms that need a simple gigabit switch without management features.

Is the TL-SG1008 a managed switch?

No, it is an unmanaged switch. VLANs and other settings cannot be configured; the device simply connects network equipment together.

Can it be installed in a rack?

Yes, according to the manufacturer the switch is suitable for both desktop and rack installation. The manufacturer does not specify whether rack mounting brackets are included.
