UBIQUITI

Ubiquiti U7 Pro Wi-Fi 7 access point 2.4/5/6 GHz, 2.5 GbE, PoE+

The Ubiquiti U7 Pro is a ceiling or wall-mount Wi-Fi 7 access point that runs three bands at once, including the less crowded 6 GHz band. Six spatial streams, a 2.5 GbE uplink and support for 300+ devices are aimed at demanding, larger environments.

  • Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), up to 5800 Mbps on 6 GHz, 4300 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz
  • Bands: 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz, 6 spatial streams, MU-MIMO
  • Port: 1 × RJ-45 2.5 GbE (1000/2500 Mbps)
  • Management: VLAN (802.1Q), band steering, fast roaming, Hotspot 2.0, WPA3, PPSK
  • Power: PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), 21 W max consumption
  • Housing: metal and polycarbonate, 206 × 206 × 46 mm, 680 g

Description

The 6 GHz band for a cleaner connection

On top of 2.4 and 5 GHz, the U7 Pro uses the 6 GHz band, where there are fewer neighbouring networks and more room for wide channels. Speeds there reach up to 5800 Mbps. Devices with Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 join the 6 GHz network, while older phones and laptops keep using 2.4 or 5 GHz. The 2.5 GbE port stops the cable from becoming the bottleneck.

Who this access point is for

The U7 Pro is for demanding, larger spaces such as offices or open-plan floors where dozens or hundreds of devices are connected at once. The manufacturer quotes about 140 m² of coverage and more than 300 devices per access point. VLAN support separates work, guest and smart-device networks, and fast roaming keeps people connected as they move.

Questions & answers

How large an area does one access point cover?

The manufacturer quotes about 140 m² and more than 300 connected devices. Larger floors need several access points.

Can my device use the 6 GHz band?

Only devices with Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 connect on 6 GHz. Other devices use the 2.4 or 5 GHz bands, which run at the same time.

Is a PoE injector included?

The access point needs PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) power and draws up to 21 W. The manufacturer does not specify whether an injector is included, so plan on a PoE+ switch.
