Description

Five terabytes in a pocket-sized drive

5 TB holds a family photo archive, a film collection and backups of several computers. The 2.5″ drive is powered from the USB port, so there is no need for a separate power adapter or a wall socket. The silicone casing absorbs knocks, and the shock sensor halts the drive during a fall to reduce the risk of bad sectors. Indicator lights show activity, error and power.

Who this external hard drive is for

Users whose photos, videos and work files no longer fit on their laptop drive, and small offices that keep backups on a separate drive. Sensitive data can be locked with a password using the HDDtoGO software.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No. The drive is powered from the computer's USB port over the same cable that carries the data.

Does speed depend on the USB port?

Yes. The drive reaches full speed in a USB 3.2 Gen 1 or newer port; in an older USB 2.0 port copying large files is slower.

Is the drive waterproof?

No. According to the manufacturer the HD330 is shock resistant; water and dust protection are not listed.
