Up to eight cameras connect to the recorder. That usually covers the perimeter of a house, its entrances, yard and garage, or the sales floor and stockroom of a small store. All cameras record to one device, so the whole archive sits in one place.
The housing has a single drive bay. You choose the drive capacity according to how long you need to keep footage. For surveillance, a drive built for round-the-clock recording is the better pick, since a regular desktop drive is not designed for constant writing.
The HDMI output connects the recorder straight to a monitor or TV, so you can watch camera feeds without a computer. Two USB 2.0 ports and an RJ-45 network port link the unit to your local network and accessories.
A SmartBracket mounting panel and an installation kit come in the box, so the recorder can be fixed securely in place. Power and Ethernet cables are included too. The compact 212 × 212 × 64 mm housing fits in a utility cabinet or on a shelf.
Homeowners and small businesses with up to eight cameras; installers of Ajax systems who need a compact recorder; and anyone who prefers a recorder fixed firmly on a mounting panel rather than left loose on a shelf.
