The AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is a six-core Ryzen 7000 Series processor for gaming PCs on the AM5 platform. A high 4.7 GHz base clock, boost up to 5.3 GHz and an unlocked multiplier keep games responsive. This is the boxed (Box) version, but according to the manufacturer no cooler is included.

  • Socket: Socket AM5, Ryzen 7000 Series
  • Cores and threads: 6 cores, 12 threads
  • Clocks: 4.7 GHz base, up to 5.3 GHz boost
  • Cache and TDP: 32 MB L3, 105 W, max temperature 95 °C
  • Memory and graphics: dual-channel DDR5 5200 MHz up to 128 GB, integrated AMD Radeon Graphics (400–2200 MHz)
  • Package: Box, no cooler

Description

An unlocked chip for tuning

As an X model, the 7600X is unlocked for overclocking: clocks and voltages can be adjusted in the AMD Ryzen Master utility, Precision Boost Overdrive uses the motherboard design to hold higher clocks for longer, and AMD EXPO lets DDR5 memory run faster. The 105 W TDP means a capable air or liquid cooler is needed, especially when overclocking.

Who this processor is for

Gamers building an AM5 PC who prefer six fast cores with a high base clock. It also suits people who like to tune their system themselves. There is no cooler in the box, so plan to get one separately. Supported operating systems are Windows 11 and 10 (64-bit), RHEL and Ubuntu.

Questions & answers

Is there a cooler in the box?

No. Although this is the Box version, the manufacturer states that no cooler is included. For the 105 W TDP, choose a sufficiently capable Socket AM5 cooler.

Can the processor be overclocked?

Yes, the multiplier is unlocked. AMD Ryzen Master handles manual tuning, Precision Boost Overdrive raises clocks automatically and AMD EXPO profiles cover the memory. Results depend on the motherboard and cooling.

Will the PC run without a graphics card?

Yes, the processor has integrated AMD Radeon Graphics running at 400–2200 MHz. The picture comes from the motherboard video output; for gaming a separate graphics card is advisable.
