The Dahua LR2110-8ET-120-V2 is an L2 network switch with eight PoE ports that powers IP cameras over far longer cables than usual. Dahua ePoE technology carries power and data up to 800 m, the PoE budget is 120 W and the switch is rated for cold conditions too.

Description

Long cable runs without an extender

Standard Ethernet stops at around 100 metres, but ePoE lets you place a camera up to 800 m away if 10 Mbit/s is enough, or 300 m away at 100 Mbit/s. A port LED shows whether the port runs in IEEE, E100 or E10 mode. According to the manufacturer the switch also supports PoC power over coaxial cable, which makes reusing old cabling easier.

Who this network switch is for

Surveillance installers who need to put a camera in a car park, along a fence or at the far end of a yard, beyond the reach of a normal network cable; industrial and agricultural sites where the device must handle frost and heat; and sites where pulling new cable would be costly.

How far from the switch can a camera be installed?

In ePoE mode up to 800 m at 10 Mbit/s or up to 300 m at 100 Mbit/s. In normal mode the standard Ethernet distance applies.

How many cameras can the 120 W budget power?

There are eight PoE ports and a 120 W budget, so with every port in use each gets 15 W on average. That is usually enough for 802.3af cameras; for higher-power models check the draw in the data sheet.

Is a power supply included?

Yes. The switch runs on 48–57 V DC, and the manufacturer lists a matching power supply in the box.
