Dahua PTS2649C-3E3Z-4GB20-PRO 4G wireless camera 3+3 MP, 6× zoom, IP66

The camera has two 1/2.8″ 3 MP CMOS sensors at 2304 × 1296, and both images are shown in two channels at the same time. The fixed 2.8 mm lens with a 93.5° field of view covers a wide area, and its tilt can be set by hand from −7° to 20°. The pan-tilt part uses 3.6 mm (81.5°) and 8.4 mm (15.1°) lenses, and the 6× hybrid zoom brings a distant car or person closer while the overview stays on screen.

The camera supports 4G LTE networks (LTE-TDD and LTE-FDD), so all it needs is a SIM card with mobile data and coverage at the site. No router, Wi-Fi or network cable is required, which means you can put it on a building site, by a summer cottage, in a field or next to a jetty. Video travels over the mobile network, so choose a plan with enough data, especially if you use AOV mode or check the live view often.

A high-capacity 65 Wh lithium-ion battery is built in, and the system includes an 8 W solar panel that charges it during the day. The camera can also be powered over USB-C with QC2.0 fast charging, and the manufacturer lists DC as a power source as well. The manufacturer does not specify battery life in hours, as it depends on sunlight, weather and how much the camera records.

SMD 3.0 smart motion detection and IVS analytics distinguish people from vehicles, so moving leaves or shadows do not trigger alerts. Auto Tracking Lite lets the pan-tilt lens follow a moving subject. When someone approaches, the camera can actively deter them with a siren and light. WizColor technology together with the built-in light is the Dahua approach to colour images in the dark as well.

The built-in microphone and speaker let you talk through the camera: warn off a stranger, guide a courier or greet a visitor. Recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512 GB, so footage is kept even if the mobile connection drops for a while. The camera supports AOV mode, which aims to keep the picture available at all times, even on battery power.

The IP66 rating means the camera is dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets, so rain and snow do not get in the way. It operates from −20 to +60 °C at up to 95 % relative humidity. The white housing measures 223.2 × 130 × 215 mm and weighs 1.8 kg, which is reasonable for a camera with a battery and suits mounting on a wall or a pole.
