Description

Speed that shortens big file transfers

Write speeds of up to 160 MB/s mean a video folder of several tens of gigabytes lands on the drive in minutes rather than the hours older USB 2.0 sticks needed. Reading is faster still, up to 250 MB/s, so photos and documents can be opened straight from the drive without copying them to the computer first. For full speed, the computer's USB-A port has to support at least USB 3.2 Gen 1.

Questions & answers

Can I use it with a USB-C computer?

The drive has a USB-A plug only. If your laptop or phone has nothing but USB-C ports, you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter to connect it.

Why is copying sometimes slower than 160 MB/s?

Up to 250 MB/s read and 160 MB/s write are maximum figures. In an older USB 2.0 port the port itself is the limit, and many small files always copy more slowly than one large file.

How is the connector protected?

The MR1904 has an aluminium housing, and a removable cap covers the USB plug to keep out dust and prevent mechanical damage while the drive sits in a bag or pocket.
