The MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+IN is a compact managed network switch with eight 10G SFP+ slots that connects servers, NAS units and other switches over fibre or copper modules. Switching capacity is 162 Gbit/s, and you can choose RouterOS or SwOS as the operating system.

Description

Two operating systems in one box

Dual boot lets you choose which operating system starts. SwOS gives simple switch management in the browser, while RouterOS adds routing and the full MikroTik toolset. The RS-232 console port lets you configure the device even without a network link, and the management port can be powered over PoE.

Who this network switch is for

A server room, office or home lab where 10 Gbit/s links tie together servers, a NAS and access switches. The small housing sits on a desk or in a rack, and with an operating range of –40 to 70 °C a cold technical room is no problem.

Questions & answers

Are SFP+ modules included?

According to the manufacturer, no modules are included. Each slot takes modules up to 10 Gbit/s, either fibre optics or copper direct-attach cables.

Can it be rack mounted?

Yes, rack mounting is supported, and the mounting brackets and screws are in the box.

How is the device powered?

A power adapter for the DC jack (12–57 V) is included. Alternatively, the management port accepts 802.3af/at PoE at 18–57 V.
