Description

Intelligent PoE that keeps key cameras running

The switch powers the most important ports first. If total consumption exceeds the system threshold, ports are switched off from the highest number downwards, so your key cameras belong on the first ports. PoE watchdog restarts an unresponsive device by itself, and 8-pin powering improves compatibility with different cameras.

Who this network switch is for

Installers building a system of up to eight IP cameras in a home, office, small mall or server room; sites where a PTZ camera or another high-power device needs Hi-PoE; and users who do not want to configure a switch at all.

What happens if the PoE budget runs short?

Intelligent PoE switches ports off starting from the highest number. Put the important cameras on low-numbered ports and keep the total draw of all devices under 96 W.

How far away can a camera be installed?

In Extend Mode the switch carries PoE power and data up to 250 m, beyond the usual 100 m Ethernet limit.

Does the switch need configuring?

No. It is an unmanaged switch that works as soon as power and cables are connected. The manufacturer lists no VLANs or web interface.
