Description

A Micro chassis you barely notice on the desk

The QCM1250 uses the smallest chassis type in the Dell Pro range. This mini PC is much smaller than a Slim case or a tower and can sit next to the monitor, on a shelf, under the desk or inside an information stand. That leaves the desk free for papers, a second screen or working with a customer. The black case blends in with office furniture and equipment and draws no attention in a customer area.

14 cores that share the load

The Intel Core Ultra 5 235T is a 14-core processor, and the T in its name marks Intel's lower-power version designed for compact cases. Plenty of cores help when a browser, email, a video call and background file sync all run at once, and they help developers who compile code or run containers. For office work, performance in this class is more than ample.

DDR5 at 5600 MHz and a 512 GB SSD

Memory is 8 GB of DDR5 at 5600 MHz, fitted as a single module. DDR5 is the newer standard, with more bandwidth than the previous generation. Ubuntu usually needs less memory than Windows, so 8 GB is comfortable for office work and browsing. The 512 GB SSD starts the system and programs quickly and holds applications and files.

Wi-Fi 6 cuts the cable

The computer supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), so there is no need to run a network cable to the desk, which is handy for information displays, temporary workstations and offices that are often rearranged. In a busy office network where many devices share one access point, Wi-Fi 6 gives a steadier connection than older standards, and it still works with older routers.

Ubuntu: an open system without a Windows licence

The computer ships with Ubuntu, a widely used Linux distribution that needs no Windows licence. A small Ubuntu machine works well as a kiosk, an information display, a developer box, for network tasks or for office work with LibreOffice and web apps. The IT department can also deploy its own system image. No keyboard is included, so peripherals can be chosen to suit the location.

Who this mini PC is for

Developers and system administrators who need a Linux machine that takes up almost no desk space; companies building information displays, kiosks or check-in points; offices where workstations move often and Wi-Fi replaces the cable; and anyone who wants a modern multi-core processor in the smallest possible case.
