LGA 1851 Socket for Current Intel Desktop Processors
The board uses the LGA 1851 socket, also known as Socket V1. This is the socket Intel uses for its latest generation of desktop processors. If you are moving from an older LGA 1700 or LGA 1200 system, you will need a processor made for LGA 1851, because older chips will not fit. Always check MSI's CPU support list for the specific processor you plan to use, as BIOS versions can affect compatibility.
