A fixed-lens camera sees a wide picture, but a person or car further away ends up small in it. The focal length of the RP-PCB8MZ lens changes from 2.7 mm to 13.5 mm, so the same camera either covers a wide area or zooms in five times closer. The zoom is optical, not digital, so the detail of the 4K image is preserved. The F1.6 aperture lets more light in, which helps at dusk.
Owners of a house, office or warehouse who want one camera to watch both a wide yard and a distant gate, driveway or car park. PoE simplifies installation: the camera needs just one network cable to a PoE switch or recorder. Footage can also be stored locally on a microSD card, and H.265 compression keeps files smaller.

Yes. The IP67 rating means complete dust protection and protection against temporary immersion in water, so rain and snow do not harm the camera.
