Description

Solar panel in the housing, 4K through the lens

Because the solar panel is built into the camera, there is no separate panel to mount and no cable to run: you fix the camera where the sun shines and the battery charges itself. 8 MP means 4K video in which faces and details can be made out even when zooming in. The F1.65 aperture lets in plenty of light, which helps at dusk, and H.265 compression keeps 4K files smaller.

Who this wireless camera is for

For watching a house, summer cottage or garden in a spot where a power cable is hard to run but there is enough sun. The microphone and speaker let you listen and talk through the camera, and footage stays on site on a microSD card of up to 512 GB.

Questions & answers

Does the solar panel need to be mounted separately?

No. The solar panel is built into the camera, so it is installed as a single unit and the battery recharges itself in daylight.

Can the camera stay out in the rain?

The supplier lists the C465 as an outdoor camera, but the manufacturer does not specify an IP rating.

What size memory card can I use?

The camera supports microSD cards up to 512 GB. Video is recorded in H.265 or H.264; H.265 takes less space for the same picture.
